Birthday Kiddo's

Aaron and I's birthday's are only one day apart.

His is July 26th, and mine is July 28th..... Basically it gives us 3 days of celebration right?

Aaron and his brothers and dad have been planning a backpacking trip to the Uintah's for a long time coming, and the weekend finally came.

I don't know how they do it.... those backpacks are tooo heavy. Aaaand maybe I'm a wuss.
They packed on up and before I knew it they sped out of there sooo fast.
So I was husbandless for 3 1/2 days. And they had no service up in the mountains.

It felt so strange, I think it was the longest time we have gone without speaking to each other. I go on business trips every month, but we always get to Facetime or call, so it was very different.

But luckily sweet Aaron left me $200 to spend over the weekend and Mary close by with jam packed weekend  ahead of us.

We didn't waste any time, and headed straight over to get pedicures.
 We went to the movies.

We went swimming.

I got sunburned.

We ate at Cafe Rio.

We drank Fizz two days in a row..... and didn't get any crap from the boys :)

Mary's family had a suite at the Bee's game the night of the 24th. So we ate plenty of food, watched ball, and enjoyed the amazing fireworks. Thank you Olson family for letting me take Jake's place!
I remembered another reason why it's good to have Aaron around, he keeps me in check from eating out too often!

Cause we sure went at it!

Hello waffle monster. We <3 Bruge's!
In line for the Cannibal, and definitely worth the wait!
Aar was out backpacking over his bday. He forgot it his birthday until halfway through the day, haha!
Mary took the long trek up to the Uintah's to pick them up since Lee and Sean left early due to the very high altitude.
Mary was so sweet, brought them full big gulps and pizza when she picked themup, I'm sure they devoured it!!

I was so excited for them to come home and start celebrating Aaron's birthday!
He was pretty stoked about his new raft for fishing.

We ate more pizza, Market Street key lime pie and watched the Bach finale.

Then woke up and did it all over again for my birthday.

Loved eating at The Garden for dinner. Nothing beats the view up there!
He was also excited it wasn't as expensive as The Roof ;)

I can't believe I was only 22, and he was 24 when we first met!

Goodbyes

This week we said goodbye to two sets of friends going to medical school.

My best high school friends and I met up at good ol' Rio.

We talked about old times when we jumped the fence late at night to skinny dip in the Riverton pool, babies [I'm still not in the market for children just yet], and our futures.

It was so good to catch up.

We don't get together all too often, but when we do, we pick back up where we left off.

Mandy is one of the sweetest people I know. She always asks what is going on and is sincerely interested. We will miss you!
We also said goodbye to Logan and Anna who are headed out to Virginia.

I swear our friends are dropping like flies.

We have 4 sets of friends currently in med school right now.

I think we're in for a healthy future.

We were a little late to help them move, but it gave us more time to hang out and chat.

Hope the East Coast treats them right!

Besides goodbyes, it's been a busy week.

Traveling to Denver while sleep deprived.

Headaches.

More Instacare visits.

Busy workdays.

And Swig.
I went a little crazy and at the other half of the cookie I got for Aar.... not a good idea.

Wayyy too much sugar.

It'll be a while til I have another cookie again.

Kamas Kabin July 2K15 Edition

Aaron is A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y obsessed with my family's cabin in the Uintah's.

I'm pretty sure he looks forward to it more than a big trip to Florida, Football, or Christmas. But that's what makes him HIM.
Once we walked into the cabin, he did this little jump/twirl thing, he was so pumped, it was the cutest.
These boys LOVE fishing. The first thing they did was race to the fishing hole. The fishing hole sure treated them good. They caught way too many for their own good.

I also caught my first few fish, I can sort of understand the fishing bug... bust just a little bit.
They had to measure all the fish.

Aaron kept calling people to tell them the good news of the huge fish. Aaaand that is was their most successful day in their decorated fishing careers :)
I didn't mind the scenery.
And I caught even more fish at Mill Hollow heyoooo.
I just don't like to put the worms on the hook, or touch the fish, or clean them out... so pretty much I don't have a very promising fishing career.

Aaron knows my love of ice cream too well. We stopped by the "medicine" store on the way into the cabin, twice.

Right: First trip in Friday night.

Left: Post Instacare visit in Park City[UTI's are yucky], I thought I deserved it.

Then I spent the next 2 hours on the toilet after.... not such a good idea.
Until next month, see you later Kamas Kabin!

Acai & Morning Alarms

I love smoothies.

I love berries.

I love granola.

I love coconut.

So I finally joined in on the acai bowl mania. They are DEEE-lish.

I'm not much of a cook at all. I think so far I've made dinner once this week.

I always go to the store and get tons of ideas, and then the food just sits there, and sits there, and sits there in the fridge waiting to be used.......

But this time I used the ingredients!
And it was a hit! Aaron and I both loved it.

Writing this down so I don't forget.

Super easy:

Blend~

Frozen berry mix

Vanilla yogurt

Ice

Milk

Sprinkle on top~

Honey Bunches of Oats granola

Sliced strawberries

Shredded coconut

YUM

And then at 11 o'clock at night we ended up making a Totino's frozen pizza cause acai bowls don't fill boys up all the way.

And then at 3:30 am we woke up to a really LOUD and persistent alarm..... :/ grrrr
Our house has a basement apartment that we rent out. Our tenant had their alarm set up for super early(who knows why....), buuuut they weren't there last night, so nobody was there to turn the bleepin' alarm off.

Finally Aaron had the genius idea to flip the breaker switch. It worked!!!

Smart guy! And then I was back to sleep ZZzzzzzz

Hello July!

July just might be my favorite month.

Summer is in full swing.

Aaron and I's birthday's are at the end of the month.

Independence Day and Pioneer Day in on month... which means two days off work and lotsa celebration!

Speaking of the 4th of July.... Aar and I spent in down in Southern Utah.

Man was it hot HoT HOT!!

Aaron met with clients on Friday while I slept in and went shopping with his mom. We hit up pretty much all the kitchen stores in St. George as well as Tai Pan, Gap (killer sales), Charming Charlie and Iceberg.

Moment of silence for Iceberg shakes. They are the absolute best. Aaaand gigantic. I leave feeling a little guilty not eating the whole thing.

We met up with my sister-in-law Melissa and her family at Red Robin and saw Inside Out after. Cute show, but not Pixar's best. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

It's hard for me to go to St. George without stopping for breakfast at Bear Paw.

So I told Aaron and his parents we HAD to go.
So we did. Chocolate stuffed french toast, don't mind if I do.

Of course the day we planned to go swimming the weather was cloudy... which really was a blessing in disguise cause I am white and would have gotten fried. Plus the weather was so much more bearable.

After a stop by Swig, we headed over to the Pugh's to watch the Hurricane fireworks.
We hiked up the hill behind their house for a perfect perch. We caught glimpses of the St. G show over the mountain as well as fireworks going off all over the Hurricane valley.
I'm slowly falling in love with that little town.

Maybe it's cause that's where Aar grew up.

Maybe it's the pretty red rock cliffs that line the town.

Maybe it's the warm weather.

Maybe it's the close proximity to Zion National Park.

Maybe it's the feeling that everyone knows everyone there.

Maybe it's the slower pace in life people take down there.

Maybe it's cause they have a Swig.

Call me crazy but I'm starting to understand why people love it there.

As Aaron and I walked into Sacrament meeting at his home ward, we suddenly realized we forgot to find a sub for our youth Sunday school class. Big ooops! I feel bad but hopefully they survived and no one burned the church down.

We are out of town so often on weekends, I'm worried our ward might start thinking we are going inactive. And we'll be gone this weekend for a trip to the cabin [insert embarrassed face emoji]. Promise we are still active.

Monday I came into work with this on my desk.
So happy since I've never seen a coke spelled with my name. Special delivery. Now only if it were diet :)
