Nothing is impossible TM 2012

Tough Mudder. 12 miles. 20 something British Special Forces designed obstacles. Mud. Water. Cold. Probably the toughest event on the planet. That was my life this weekend. My work all competed in this together as team 6 Feet Under. We started with 12, a few got ahead of us, and a few quit, this is us at the finish line 4 hours later.

Check out this link to the Tough Mudder overview http://www.youtube.com/user/ToughMudder?v=vh5HdPM_QuE

We crawled in mud under barbed wire, swam in water with ice floating all around us, climbed up slick muddy hills, carried heavy logs for a half mile, scaled 16 foot walls, crawled through tubes full of water, ran and crawled through shocks of up to 10,000 volts, just to name a few things- all in 40 degree weather in Tooele nbd.

Surprisingly I had a lot of adrenaline, which got me through the race and kept me running throughout the race. One thing I love about the Tough Mudder is the camaraderie with all the teams, multiple people I did and didn't know helped boost me, asked if I was okay and kept me going throughout the race.... THANK YOU!

It was so much fun and something I will never forget, also something my body won't let me forget with the sore aches and pains, but so glad to come out unhurt and healthy! Maybe I'll be back next year.... maybe.

Here's me running through the shocks at the end... luckily I didn't get it too bad!

Lone Wolf

After being a bridesmaid 3 times this summer, wedding season is finally over for me. My last, and best friend got married last week.  All of the weddings this summer were awesome. I don't know how the brides do it, I was so worn at the end of the night after the weddings! Congrats guys!

Oh this has gotta be the good life

I just have to brag about today for a little.

My awesome parents surprised me and shipped Georgtown Cupcakes to my work for my birthday tomorrow. Favorite cupcakes ever, all the way from Virginia!

I got a small raise at work.

July has been good to me, mostly

New York City
NYC... wow! Sure is one concrete jungle. First time I've been and I definitely wanna go back.     Our first day we took the wrong subway and ended up riding the subway for about a total of 4 hours, after I had been on a plane/airport for 8 hours. Nbd, but I wish you could see the city more riding the subway, oh well.

We stayed in Queens by the airport the first night, Spence thought Queens was so ghetto and got stressed a lot haha. I definitely recommend the Buccaneer Diner out there though :). We did a lot of the touristy things like the Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown, Central Park, Manhattan Temple, Carnegie Deli, Staten Island, Lion King Broadway, World Trade Center Memorial, Times Square and all that.

I just couldn't believe everywhere you look there are tons and tons of people just walking around. It was just fun to walk around and see everything. So my mom said our hotel was right in Times Square, we were so excited... wrong Marriot mom.

Bermuda
Bluest water I have ever ever EVER seen! Weird shaped island. Most people get around on scooters, ferry or bus. We did all 3. We visited the Perfumery and Moongate just like they did on the Bachelorette. One of the days we rented scooters and drove them around all day which was lots of fun, and on the other side of the road! Spence only had one little crash with me on the back.

The beaches were amazing! Clear, clear water, smooth pink sand, no sea shells, or rocks to get in the way, beautiful views and I even swam in the Bermuda Triangle! Ironically they celebrated the 4th of July there with a festival and fireworks even though they are part of the UK.

We went helmet diving and I held a fish, got pretty sunburned, swam in a grotto with stalagtites and shopped shopped shopped.

Car
My little bug has a lot of mileage and the AC has not been working. Not a good combination for hottt Utah summers. Time to get a new car. Here's my new little Nissan Versa I got last week. So far so good, keep crossing your fingers.

Moving
I moved out of the gparents house and into another house in Holladay just like 5 minutes away. The roommates aren't home too often but seem nice. I found out they are way older than me. It's a decent house, new kitchen, enough room and bigger bed then I'm used to. Lucky I have Mike to hang these pictures!

Crash
Last Saturday my mom and I got in a 3 car crash in Holladay. Luckily no one got hurt. I got the wind knocked out of me and am still sore but so lucky the airbags didn't go off, and that we weren't driving my new car! A Ram truck ran a red light and got T-boned, and spun into us stopped at the red light. It wasn't even too scary because it all just happened so fast. All 3 cars are totalled and ours caught on fire! But luckily we were just driving my Gma V's spare car so it's no biggie on that loss. Aren't we blessed?!

Zzzzz

I don't sleep very well on planes and have a red eye this weekend. So I had a genius idea to get some sleeping pills/medicine to knock me out during the flight. Last night I though it would be a good idea to test the stuff out.

Note to self: don't take sleeping pills if you can only get 6.5 hours of sleep that night. I slept great, but all morning was so exhausted and tired. Usually I am awake and alert, tired at first but totally fine at work. This is not the case. It said no drowsiness upon waking up.... I dunno about that.

All I known is that I want to go back to bed.

Grad Chap

For the past 4 years, my best friend Madi's mom has been in charge of the Riverton graduation party at the Boondocks fun center. And for the past four years, Madi and me and other friends have helped chaperone.

And by chaperone I mean pass out a few wristbands and then ride on the go carts, eat pizza, steal tokens and dominate arcade games. Occasionally we walk around the mini golf course checking out the cave while walking through people's games and kicking their golf balls.

This year was no exception. Madi and I also rode in the go carts.... crazy, Crazy, CRAZY! I'd say this year was a success. Now back to work in the morning!

May May May May

Happy May!

Last May I was starting an internship at Kassing Andrews Advertising. Now I am fully employed there are keeping busy handling client accounts and working full time.

I got some suite tickets again for the last Jazz playoff game. Too bad they lost. I'm starting to like this whole suite thing again, don't know if I wanna go back to that reg seating....

I still am addicted to frozen yogurt. I only had it once last week, which is an improvement.

I bought my mom a mother's day present today.

The weather has been nice and warm.

I'd say May has kicked off to  a great start so far!

All Nighters

I realized I am getting old when I couldn't even remember the last time I pulled an all nighter before last friday. Was the last real time my high school graduation night? Am I really that lame.... probably.

The past couple of months I have literally been in my bed, tucked in at 10:30, which I would have considered an amazing feat 2 years ago. Now it is just the norm.

Last Thursday I went to the Hunger Games premier at midnight, got locked out at 3:30 in the morning, finally got into the house, ate a little breakfast(red bull) and drove to Sandy for the Scrapbook USA Expo for work. After about 3 hours at the Expo I drove back to the office and worked a full day.

I think it just may be another 4 years until I pull another all nighter, sleep has been good to me.

The FUN bus

West Wendover, Nevada
Population: 5,000
Location: 2 hours west of Salt Lake

Last night was one of the funnest nights I've had. My friends Xanni, Madi, Brent, Gavin and I took the bus ride from Salt Lake to Wendover. What a night! "I feel dizzy from all that diet coke and red bull."

That's me and Xan on the bus. We paid only $18 for a round trip bus ride, buffet, and $10 back to play with.

I learned that I suck at roulette. And it's not called Russian roulette.

"I feel trashed."

Growin' UP

Prettymuch I'm an official "Grown-up". I work 40 hours a week, have an iPhone, own a college degree, get a regular paycheck, am legal to gamble, and have my own office- yep that's my cute little office up there :)
