HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I am lucky to work at such a great office. We went to Blue Lemon for breakfast and took selfie's with my bosses new selfie stick :)

Pumpkin carving

This week we celebrated Halloween with our neighbors. We carved pumpkins, bobbed for apples, and ate donuts off the string-which is hilarious if you haven't done it!

We're not very creative when it comes to pumpkin carving, but it's the thought that counts! Loved doing traditional Halloween activities!

Halloween party

Yep, your eyes aren't betraying you. I did in fact hang out with a goat over the weekend in a questionable area of downtown SLC. Right by the freeway and train tracks. This crazy night all goes back to my job at the ad agency.

My bosses are huge, I mean HUGE Halloweenies. They love it more than Christmas. So instead of having an annual Christmas party, they throw a B-I-G Halloween party for all of our vendors. In the past it has included tarot card readers, haunted mansions, costumes and always lots of booze- which makes it a little ca-razy for those of us that don't drink.

Last year the party was at the Armstrong mansion in Salt Lake. The mansion is rumored to be haunted. They rented the mansion out for the night, decorated with cobwebs, brought in a real coffin and tarot card readers. We stayed the night since it was a bed and breakfast. Luckily nothing spooky happened to me!

Every year they are always raising the bar, and this year was no exception. This year we explored the world of secret societies by creating our own.
So naturally our graphic designer created a logo for our newfound society.
The meeting place was at a concert venue in a sketchy area of town. Once everyone arrived, we took an oath, donned black cloaks and black masks and hopped on one of two charter buses to explore different areas around town and read stories of masons and other societies.

By the end of the night, most everyone around us was drunk and we were tired. But we ended the night by lighting lanterns off.
It was so pretty! I would love to do this again someday!
Most of the lanterns didn't catch off into the sky, I don't know if it was because the lanterns were cheap, or if everyone was drunk. Luckily ours took off and Aaron was so proud... ours is the farthest tiny light in the sky you can see.

By the end of the night we were worn out, and it's not super fun to hang out with a bunch of drunk people. We headed home and fell asleep on the couch- Aaron's favorite thing to do while watching sports center. But the party was a success, and everyone enjoyed it, can't wait to see what ideas my bosses have in store for next year.

Cornbelly's

I'm a Cornbelly's lover. Last night Mary I and went to Cornbelly's, it was her first time, and she loved it! Since we were in Lehi, we of course had to stop at Swig. We are praying for one to come to Salt Lake soon!

Cornbelly's is the cutest Fall festival/fair/carnival, and there's so much to do! We rode the cow train, slid down the slide on the gunnysack slide, went through the corn maze, walked through the mini haunted house and more!

 Classic rocking chair picture.

 Corn maze champs.

My first time trying the mexican corn! It was yummy- it's a mix of mayo, chili powder, butter and lime.
The jumping pillow is harder to jump on then it looks. I may have embarrassed myself a little bit.

My toes were completely numb by the end of the night, but we came home scared, satisfied and full of yummy food. We had a lot of fun, and it's safe to say Mary is a fan now. #corncops #lildiny

Hi Mom!

My mom has been in town the past couple days. Her list of things while in town included:

Hiking to the Living Room
Hiking to Ensign Peak
Going to Sweet Tomatoes
Visiting her mom

I added a few like:

Going to Pizzeria Limone
Going to Swig
Seeing Meet the Mormons

So that's exactly what we did this weekend! I'm glad she likes to try new things and appreciates new restaurants.

After picking her up from the airport Friday we swung by Pizzeria Limone for lunch. Following work, Aaron and I met her and my grandma at the movie theater to watch the movie Meet the Mormons. It was a great movie and I haven't seen a documentary in a long time so that filled my fix for a while now.

Can I just say this Fall has been perfect!! If Fall was like this every year I wouldn't be such a hater. The weather has literally been perfect all October. No rain, no snow, just sunny and warm, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the pretty leaves all month.

The mountains were on fire! So pretty during our Living Room hike.
My aunt and uncle Paul and Kristen joined us for the hike.

She forgot about the elevation change between here and Alabama... but we still made it!
Much anticipated and well deserved Swig. I had to introduce her to the famous sugar cookies and flavored drinks. It did not disappoint. So glad she's game to drive all the way to Bountiful just for a cookie.

Today

Today I have eaten too much candy at work.... it's just sitting in a bowl on the table, taunting me. Yep, that'd my trash can full of candy wrappers, there's more there than you think. [insert embarassed face emojii] >>>

Today I am embarrassed to admit that I am officially a caffeine-free Diet Coker. [insert embarrassed face emojii]

Today I am looking forward to see my mom who will be in town for the weekend.

Today, and most days I have drunk about 70 fluid ounces of water, and have had countless bathroom trips.

Today I am still playing chauffeur to Aaron... hopefully next week the car auction plays out to our advantage.

Today I am hoping there will be food at the wedding we go to tonight so Aaron won't comment again how I haven't made dinner in a long time. #sorryimnotdomestic #goodthinghotdogsarehisfavorite

Lower Bell Resevoir

Picture overload coming your way! Aaron and Jake found Lower Bell fishing a few weeks back, and have been dying to take Mary and I ever since. We finally found a Sunday afternoon where we had time to go. So we drove on down Wasatch Boulevard and hiked up the short trail to the lake.

I don't think there is a more perfect time to go then now. The trees, the weather, everything. I think I said it's so pretty up here about a million times and I can't stop staring at these pictures.

October business

October has been such a busy month at our house. Aaron and I have both been working late, managing sharing one car, getting new phones and services plans, getting sick, planning and preparing a shower, going to Jazz games and everything else in between.

Luckily I've been able to fit in a little bit of fun in with all the business.

Mary and I went to the Holladay Halloween craft fair and finally tried some Art City Donuts. I recommend the maple!
Since Aaron was busy studying for his insurance license test, Madi came with me the the Strangling Brothers Haunted Circus for a night out with my co-workers. She said she would come as long as she didn't get baby scared out of her hahaha. We had a lot of fun.
Friday night Aaron and I were invited to dinner at my grandma's house. We grabbed some food, chatted and helped her with some small tasks. Afterwards we had plans to go to the movies, but I had a MASSIVE headache, like laying on the couch squeezing my head with an ice pack on top while whimpering type of headache. My problem is I've been having too much caffeine lately aka Diet Coke. As a result of not drinking any that day... a headache rolled in, and a bad one! It usually happens when I start drinking caffeine everyday and then take a break, it's no bueno and Aaron isn't having it anymore, he's not letting me have Diet Coke anymore. Sad, sad day.

We also celebrated Madi's baby shower at my place over the weekend. I'm sad we didn't take any pictures, but we were so busy hanging out and talking that we didn't even notice.  Showers are my favorite because that is usually the only time my friends and I get together. T minus one month til we find out the gender of Madi and Gavin's baby!

After the shower we rushed down to Provo to bbq and hang out with Aaron's friends. I wish we lived closer to them because they are always so fun to be with. Aaron also came home happy since they sent us off with two boxes of Mona Vie.

I can't believe October is halfway over! The weather has been so warm and the mountains are gorgeous right now, I wish I could just push pause so I can catch up outside and enjoy being outside!

His favorite day

Yesterday was 100% Aaron's favorite day.... for a few reasons.

1. His new iPhone 6 came in the mail
2. I got Jazz suite tickets for the first preseason game
3. My hair was up in a ponytail
4. We went to Applebee's for late night apps with Jake and Mary

Downtown Denver

This past weekend Aaron and I flew out to Denver for a financial planning conference of his. We stayed in the heart of Downtown Denver at the Westin, right by the clock tower and on the 16th Street Mall.
The view right outside our window on the 10th floor. After racing around all day after work getting Aaron's phone fixed, ordering the new iPhone, packing and getting to the airport we were hungry kiddos, so we had a 1 am delivery!
My name tag for going to the meetings, only went to a few. The rest of the time I enjoyed sleeping in, exploring 16th street, shopping, working out and being lazy...much needed after being so busy at work.
Cutest free mini golf course right outside our hotel in Skyline Park.

I let him win ;)
Yummy dinner at Willie G's.
Loved the view from the hotel deck, and walking up 16th Street.
It was fun to have a little break in a new city. And I am especially grateful Aaron has found a career he is so passionate about, works hard and has great people supporting him, wouldn't have it any other way.
