The Bahamas

Aaron had 2 things he absolutely HAD to do in the Bahamas....

1. Visit the stock exchange and take a picture in front of it.

2. Ride on the water tricycles.

One of the mornings we woke up and went to the lagoon first thing to ride the trikes. IT was perfect since we were the only ones on the water.
Turns out he didn't love the trikes as much as he thought he would... haha we all knew that would happen, but we still had fun.

Spence and Lexi got a paddle board and we switched between both toys while my parents sat back and took pictures.
And we can't forget the stock exchange. Here's his pic at the BISX to add to his collection.
That night, we ate at one of thee best Italian restaurants I've been to. It was all served family style and at the end it looked like we hardly touched any food. We had salad, giant pieces of garlic bread, chicken parmigiana, lasagna aaaaand the best dessert....

THE TITANIC!
Basically an entire pan of brownies with 10 ice cream scoops and plenty of whipped cream on top. to. die. for.

At night the resort was lit up and so pretty! Couldn't resist not taking a thousand pictures each night.

The next day we went to Balmoral Island to feed the stingrays.
They were huuuuge! It took a bit to warm up to them, but I finally held one.
They brush up against your leg like cats and love to be fed. ^This lady was a lot heavier then she looks... and she was pregnant!
I love that my family is an ice cream/dessert family. And I love that my best friend and extended family know that.

Aaron's not really a dessert person, and can't believe we go out of our way late a night, or drive somewhere just for ice cream. I love it though.... and he can't complain to me when everyone else is around :)
I <3 Ben and Jerry's.

The Atlantis also has tons of cool aquariums around the resort... and we didn't discover these til my parent's showed us the last day!

Gettin' brave and touching/holding a starfish!

So glad we had the waterpark to play in too!
We played card games at night while silly Aaron went to the casino... and had the sun work us every day.

We flew back a day later than my parents so save some significant money on airfare.
Unfortunatley, we booked a horrible AirBnb... tiny, misleading pictures, bugs in the bathroom, wifi not working.... not great.

So we woke up early to go to the airport to start our long leg home. We spent the rest of the day at the airport and in the air.

Such a fun trip and so glad my parents were able to take us there, they are the best! Just missed David.

Now back to business at home. Grandpa Jack is on hospice right now and could pass away any day now. My parents and David are in town right now. Grandpa gave me a good squeeze last night though and is in good spirits. He is just not able to speak because of his recent stroke and is very weak and tired. Now it's just a waiting game.

The Atlantis

We had the best time at the Atlantis in the Bahamas! Our last couple of trips have been nonstop go go go, so it was nice to have a relaxing, low key, no pending plans trip.

It started with a red eye flight Monday night. Luckily, with all my work travel, I've been trained on sleeping in economy.
We had a 4 hour flight to Charlotte for our layover. So I packed my jacket, ear plugs, sleeping mask, some trusty meds and slept the whole entire flight, it was thee best.

We arrived before my parents to the Atlantis and upon check in were informed that they upgraded us to their swanky hotel The Reef. It was definitely a pleasant surprise. The Reef rooms were triple the cost of what had originally been booked. Apparently, when the Atlantis has available rooms, they upgrade people so they can go home and talk about their experience. Pretty good marketing!
We stayed on the 16th floor with the prettiest balcony views!

We were all starving and once my parents arrived, we booked it to dinner. After dinner my dad showed us around the property.

The Atlantis has about 5 hotels on the property, a water park, tons of aquariums, restaurants, shopping and a casino. It's so big they have shuttle vans taking you from place to place.

My dad had been looking forward to dining at a yummy buffet at the Atlantis for a while. We went there twice over the week. The best part was the dessert... a Lindt chocolate fountain. But cute Aaron isn't keen on dessert like the rest of my family and had steak for dessert. Weirdo... haha
The weather was perfect the entire trip... sunny and warm with lows in the mid 70s at night. Glad we missed the snow in Utah!

3 years

I got home at about 2 am from a business trip and completely missed celebrating Aaron and I's 3 year anniversary. But the sweet thing had some flowers waiting for me .

We celebrated the next night at The Garden on top of the Joseph Smith Memorial building.... one of these days we'll make more and justify going to The Roof instead.

Over 3 years we've been to 10 countries, 8 states, sold a house, bought a home, been through way too many cars, seen each other at rock bottom, had many Kamas Cabin trips and been to many many Jazz games.

It's never been easy, but it's worth it.

Aaaaaand every year I make Aaron take a picture with me on the pedastool so we can see us grow and change throughout the years. I love that tradition!

Kentuckiana!

Time for some catch up!

We secured a new client in Louisville Kentucky! Since then, we've started our monthly visits to Kentucky. This trip was a little longer than normal, since we had to meet with all the TV and radio stations in Louisville, so I happened to be in Louisville over Aar and I's 3 year anniversary :(

We started out with some bad luck, delayed flights... and no directs from SLC to Louisville... which is a bummer since it makes it a long trip.

Buuut we stayed right on the Ohio River. With the prettiest views.
The Ohio River separates Kentucky and Indiana, so we switched back and forth between the states like it was no big deal frequently.

Besides meetings, we had thee BEST dinner(and views) at the Portage House.
It was situated on the Indiana side right on the river. The weather was perfect.

After all our meetings, we raced to the airport and hopped on the plane. I didn't get back til midnight... and ended up having a dead battery in the airport parking garage.

Here's to better luck next time!

Woodland Weekends

We just had our first cabin weekend of the year! The cabin is Aaron's absolute favorite. We grill, eat, fish and play Uno up in the mountains.

So, of course, the first thing we did when we got there was head straight to the fishing hole.

Since it's still early in the year the river was brown, muddy, high and swift.
Nothing but catching big sticks the first night....

Since Spence works for Bear Butt Hammocks... we usually have hammocks everywhere we go. They are super easy to set up and we loved just hanging by the river.

We took the drive back to Kamas for some ice cream through the green cow fields full of yellow dandelions. Such a pretty time up in the mountains right now!

My boss found out Aaron loves going to Jazz games and gave us tickets to the playoff game on Saturday, so we headed back down to Salt Lake for the game. Soft seats, food and easy access... the suite life was good to us... the Jazz was not.

And then we drove back up to the cabin. Finished the night off with Uno and plenty of candy.

#May4th

Hello May! So happy spring is finally here... which means summer is just around the corner... best time of year!

I'm sitting here in my office with the door cracked open with a view of snowcapped Mt O, sunny blue skies and green trees and bushes everywhere. Oh and I'm wearing sandals... life is good.

Aaron and I ate lunch at Cafe Rio on the patio today, I love that we work close enough together that we can meet for lunch!

We've started running outside again... which I absolutely hate and complain to Aaron, but my lungs need some warming up so we can get our mileage up.

I feel like I haven't cooked dinner in a real long time... so this picture is basically our life right now. Aaaand Sprout's licorice FTW.
Work is busy as ever. We are headed to Kentucky next week for a few days to meet with the media there, but the culture is so good, free swag, thursday breakfast and low key lunches. #luckyme
