Snowbird, Fall and Trips

The past couple weeks have been a blur for me.... They've flown by, but I've  been nonstop busy til late in the night.

Susanne and Lee just started their mission and came to stay with us a few days before their flight to New Zealand. The fall weather has been soooo ideal and the mountains are at their peak with all the leaves changing. So we took them up to Snowbird to take the tram up to the top.
It was so funny because it was in the middle of Oktoberfest at Snowbird, so alcohol everywhere, but they still enjoyed it with their missionary tags on and everything.
We headed back down the canyon to Pei Wei and spent the night speculating about New Zealand and their mission.. I can't wait to visit them next year!

Work has been crazy crazy busy. I spent a couple days in Denver for some media meetings. Early 5:40 am flight and meetings back to back 2 days in a row... and then back to work to catch up on emails.... #rough.

We sent them off the airport after we took them to Zupas Monday afternoon. Between their lack of flying and being nervous about leaving we walked them through every check in step and watched them get through security. We haven't heard from them yet... but I guess no news is good news.
One of my clients sponsored a walk for Shriners Hospital. I never knew much about Shriners, but I have learned a lot! They are such a help in the community and it was cool to see all the kids participate in the walk in their wheelchairs and crutches with their families.
The cotton candy wasn't bad either!
This week has been busy prepping for a conference we are holding for a client in Moab.... so I've been working and worrying 12- 15 hours a day about that and catching up on other urgent items... it's exhausting.

The only good thing about that is that Aaron has been at a conference in California all week... so he hasn't been distracting me, and I don't feel bad for working so much.

These last couple and coming weeks we will have hardly seen each other, between my trip to Denver, his to California and then mine to Moab this weekend it's few and far between :(
Today the weather got reallll cold.. the mountain peaks have been dusted with snow and enveloped with clouds all day... so fall decor is out. Trying so hard not to eat all the candy corn... once I start it's hard to stop.
KAA loves fall and football so of course our lobby is decked out!

Here's to surviving the next couple of days!

Fall Hiking

A couple of years ago I stumbled upon Neff's Canyon. It was this time of year I went hiking on the steep trail. I vividly remember the spot where I turned around... a big meadow opening full of golden aspens and mountain peaks.

I've been dying to go back, especially in September when the leaves are fire red and golden yellow. So I half tricked/half convinced Aaron to come with me.
Well.... the hike was a lot longer than I remembered. A loooot longer and a looooot steeper. Between the two of us we guzzled three hefty gatorades and were left wanting more.
We almost turned around several times... and by the very end I was taking the tiniest steps ever hardly bringing one foot in front of the other(I'm super out of shape if you can't tell).
But we finally made it to the top... after several times of telling Aaron just ten more minutes... just ten more minutes. It was definitely worth it though!
Between the awesome valley views and the brightly colored meadow I'm so glad we made it! I checked my steps later that night... we ended up just shy of 8 miles... wow! I'm definitely feeling it today!

Hello September!

Can't believe Summer is coming to a close! It's always good to have a break though and we definitely lazed it out for Labor Day.

Between Spence and I, we are lucky enough to get into plenty of free sporting events, concerts etc. Since the Leo is one of Spence's clients... Aar and I tagged along with him and Lexi to go see the new exhibit.

We enjoyed the museum just like all the other kids there haha. I think Spencer and Aaron's favorite exhibit was the marble tube track.. they spent a good half hour constructing their own course.

Football kicked off this past weekend... if you can't tell KAA bleeds red. Aaron was so content watching football all weekend and setting up his Fantasy Football leagues.
Haven't see these two college roomies in a loooong time. It was good to catch up and just hang out with them on Saturday.... while Aaron contently watched College football alllll afternoon long.
Not sure why I don't have a picture... but we went to 2 goodbye parties for Madi and Gavin... we sure are going to miss them. They are the best, but I'm excited for them to go to Dallas... we definitely are going to be visiting!
Although we only lasted about 3.5 innings... we went to the last Bee's game of the season. It sure was hotter than we expected... and black pants were not a good idea.
Meanwhile I've pulled out all my fall decor, pumpkins and candy corn. Not a big fall fan... but I can' enjoy September... with the leaves changing just a bit, and warm weather.... Hello September!
