Summer Saterdayzz

Trolley Square.

Swimming.

Cheesecake Factory.

Family.

Fooooood.

[He hates taking pictures]
We had family in town this weekend- Susanne & Lee, and Nathan & Natalie and their little family from Hurricane and Cedar.

Natalie suggested the Spaghetti Factory and I'm so glad she did! I've never been there. We headed up to Trolley Square and stuffed our bellies full. The inside of Spaghetti Factory is so cool! The interior is very antique and even has a real trolley car inside! Plus the ice cream at the end of the meal is delish!
We spent Saturday going to little Emma's baptism in West Jordan. It was nuts they had about 10 baptisms and just rotated us all around the stake center like cattle haha.... but really. Afterwards we headed over to their house and had some lunch.

After lunch we swam and swam and swam. Cute little Callie had so much energy and kept jumping in and out of the pool, whether she was supposed to or not, she was a fish.

I love swimming when it's 100+ degrees not only cause it's so refreshing, but when you get of the water, it's not even cold!
After swimming the guys took the kiddos up Millcreek Canyon and the girls went to Cheesecake Factory. Still not sure how we got them to do that!
We all picked a dish and shared including avocado egg rolls, margarita pizza, pot stickers and salad.

Ended the night with mango key lime pie cheesecake and good conversation.

Snow Cones & Summer Nights

I cannot express enough how much I love LoVe LOVE summer!

The smells, the sounds, the mountains and best of all the snow cones!

Although my beloved green Island Flavor truck is no where to be found, Madi helped me find the next best thing- Hawaiian shaved ice. So fluffy and creamy and ginormous!

I've already been there twice this week- once in Riverton with Madi and once with Aaron in Cottonwood Heights.
I have also been trying to get our back yard flow going and so far it's not looking too shabby. I'm so excited we got a gas firepit(no more smelly campfire clothes for us), chairs, rugs and a hammock. Getting closer to having a dreamy backyard.

Camping with the Pugh's

It's been a whirlwind of a weekend, but I wouldn't have it any other way. The Pugh's have a family reunion ever summer down at their Southern Utah cabin in Kolob.

So Friday night we trekked on down with Jake and Mary.

[Bathroom break in Nephi]

[Costa Vida stop in Fillmore]

Jetted off the Cedar exit and were partway up the canyon, before we realized we were almost out of gas. Turnaround.

[Fill up in Cedar]

Turnaround.

Made it to Kolob Resevoir when Aar started noticing the car was driving funny. "We're on dirt roads" I said.

[Break on side of the road..... 2 FLAT tires]
Almost made it to the home stretch but my tires were goners. Luckily my bro-in-law Dale has a truck and was luckily [and so were we] in an area of cell reception.

By then it was about midnight, I was half asleep and not looking forward to setting up camp. Suzanne came to the rescue and let us sleep on the couch beds.

Aaron and his Dad headed back down in the morning to take the tires off, and we loaded them into Suzanne's car and headed down to Hurricane to get new tires.

So of course we had to stop by Swig...... we always find a way!

Pretty sure Mary and I are addicts... it's cool.
After our Swig stop, we got matching shirts & headbands at Walmart [like we were in 5th grade again], had delicious wood fire pizza [thanks Suzanne] and headed back up to Kolob. And boy was I glad since it was 100+ degrees in Hurricane!
The resevoir was gorgeous and the weather perfect. We played volleyball, fished, had dutch oven dinners, smores and played games.
 Me and the in-laws.

Til next time Kolob! [and hopefully you're nicer to us!]

#jackfam2015

We got back last week from spending a week in Park City. Although some people may think PC is the best in the winter, there is nothing like summer time in Park City, you just can't beat it.
Green lush mountains.

Perfect warm temperatures.

Alpine sliding.

Summer sales at the outlets.

Main Street.

It's theee best!

All but a handful of my dad's side of the family was there, pretty impressive since we are spread out all across the world. From Japan to Germany, the Caribbean to Boston, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia and Salt Lake, we had an impressive attendance.

The planners were sure on top of it, cause all week we were going strong. We started out with a family picture at a studio in Provo, and luckily it was right next to Swig, so we had to stop. After that we headed up to the Park City Marriot.

We had an awesome scavenger hunt, that included getting ice cream and Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.
 Java Cow for the win!
We almost won the Scavenger hunt, took 2nd place, not too shabby.
Each night we had "Heritage Night" where each of my uncles would take some time and spotlight one of our ancestors. Although sometimes they dragged on, I learned a lot of cool facts about my ancestors. They lived great lives, were so dedicated to the gospel, just awesome people and wanted the same for their posterity. I know they are cheering for me on the other side for sure.

Had so much fun playing minute to win it games. And yes my team did win. Go Dream Team!
 Got our family hats.
The Park City Marriot may just have the best hot tubs around, so much fun!
Group pic with Spence, me, Michelle, Rob, Doug and Ashley. Took us about 10 shots and this is the best one. Hahaha
We love the Alpine Slide! So much fun, even though the fast track is closed :(
I dropped about $200 at the Factory outlets(insert embarassed face emoji), but the sales at Jcrew, Gap and Polo were just too good! My mom was a champ and followed me around everywhere, she got some great things too.

We also went to the Olympic Park to do the zipline, alpine slide and ropes course. I lasted about half the day before I got a really bad stomach flu. My mom drove me back to the condo and I barely made it! It was the absolute worst bug I've had in a long time. My mom and Spence were so sweet. And once Aaron came up after work he sat there with my for a while and watched me just sit there and cry. Luckily I made it through the day.

It was so fun having my parents in town, we are always sad to see them leave!

June catch up time

I can't believe June is half way over! June is one of the best months because SUMMER! But it has also been a busy month, so here's a little bit of catching up.

A few weeks ago we went to the Romney vs. Holyfield Charity Vision Fight.

Not because we are rich and go to those sort of things(although I wish that was the case), but because I got tickets through work.

It was an awesome experience, we saw how the super swanky do it.

Yummy food served to us right at our seats.

Black tie.

Aaaaand the boxing was pretty cool to watch as well!
We took a quick evening hiking/fishing trip to Lower Bell.

I am in love with how green the mountains are. I just want to stare at the mountains all the time since they don't last long!

I even fished a bit, tied my line, put the lure on and cast.... but no luck.

Maybe next time.

My goal is to catch a fish on my own this summer!
Wedding season is here! I think in the past 2 weeks we have received 4 invites in the mail, with plenty more to come.
Enjoying blowing bubbles a bit too much at my cousin Rachel's reception at This Is The Place.
My parents have been in town the past week for our Jack Family Reunion (more to come). When they are in town they always go golfing a few times, and Aaron loves it since he doesn't go very often. He's pretty good for a beginner!
Our sweet niece Emma discovered she had brain cancer early this year. Poor thing has been through a rough surgery and recovery. She was one of the featured kids for the Brain Wave Fundraiser this past Saturday.

We are glad we live so close so we could attend! We ran the 5k and boy am I out of shape. Aaron was doing a good job coaching me through it. Towards the end I started getting ornery cause I was not having fun and the last thing I wanted to do was push myself.

But I did.

And he did.

And we made it through.
We continue to go to the Costco food court for lunch frequently.

Recently discovered the Carbonaro Effect- a hidden camera magic show that is hilarious.

Constantly werking in the yard.

Forgetting to work out.

Planning for the future.

Aaaaand enjoying summer while we can.

Costco Pizza & Home Things

Lately I have been la la loving the Costco food court. Aar and I have been at least once a week for lunch this past month. Thank you Costco for being soooo cheap, and for theeee best berry smoothies!
The Sugarhouse Foodtruck League has started. I finally made it and Aar, Spence and Lexi even came along. I love summer nights, the city and food.
We ended up with Art City Donuts and snow cones(yesss!). Next week we will venture out a bit more.
Still working on finishing touches on the house like hanging picture frames, always sweeping the wood floors, hanging lights in our patio area and all the usual house things.
Next step is to actually fill the picture frames!
