St. George and Softball

From Kamas to Sun Valley to St. George... we sure made it through a busy week of traveling!

After a 4 hour drive from Sun Valley to Salt Lake, Aaron and I grabbed some Pei Wei, and headed down to Cedar City to spend the night at his sister Emily's house. We stayed up late talking per usual and woke up to go down to Hurricane.

Aaron worked on some work stuff with his parents and helping get their estate ready to go before they leave for New Zealand. Meanwhile I went down to St. George to go ShOpPiNg!
After a little Chipotle(just discovered kids meals there for the win!) I checked out the outlets and Tai Pan... can't believe all the fall and Halloween stuff is out!

It was unusually cool for St. George... 70 degrees in August is almost unheard of! But it made for some pretty Hurricane views.
We spent the rest of the night eating pizza and playing card games til late in the morning.

Lee and Susanne did great on their farewell talks... and cute little Callie loved playing with my snapchat filters.
Back to work now catching up... but first... softball with the KAA crew... so far we are 2-0!
I am horrible, scared of the ball, took a hard throw straight to my hand, and always hit a grounder in between 2nd and 3rd, which always results in an out for the runner.
Meanwhile Aaron is killing it. He got a home run, and is throwing the ball left and right... tagging people out just about every play... who knew he was so good at softball?

Looks like we'll be spending our nights at the batting cages!

Sun Valley

 S-U-N---V-A-L-L-E-Y

Aaron and I have spent this week in Sun Valley with my grandparents at their condo. We are spoiled with our mountains, cliffs and views in Utah... but Sun Valley isn't too shabby either.
Being late August the hills are prepping to turn their leaves leaving everything a golden color. Blue skies and puffy clouds make it even more unreal.
The first night Aar and I drove around town and the Sun Valley mall. The weather was perfect and the town not crowded at all. It's so much fun to be in such small towns like Sun Valley and Ketchum.
The Sun Valley mall is so cute. It reminds me a lot of Europe.... cobblestone pathways, pretty flowers and quaint little shops- all completely over our price range :/
I had to wait for Aaron to leave to get some ice cream at the cute shop ;)
Aaron left mid week and I stayed behind with my grandparents. We headed up to the Galena Summit to take in the beautiful view. It was a cool 59 up there, refreshing but definitely reminded me that fall is coming.

See what I mean about reminding me about Europe? Feels a little like Europe, and a little less like Idaho. So pretty either way.
We spent our days sleeping in, working remote from our offices, snacking on guac and chips, playing phase 10 dice... a lot, and shopping. Fun little vacation, and good to spend the time with Grandma and Grandpa Jack!

Fun N' Foot Golf

Lately I've been required to wake up pretty early in order to make it to some work events. 4 am wake up calls are rough... but nothing beats the views up at the top of Snowbird!
I feel like an expert at Snowbird now, knowing when the tram leaves and picks up, and where to take the perfect pictures up at the Summit. With Snowbird as a new client at the agency, we've been doing lots of live morning radio broadcasts.

We take the tram up whiles it's still dark... a little eery, but you can see the valley lights sparkle in the distance, and the sun rise over the mountain tops. It's a little chilly, but it warms up by 10:30 when we head back down into the valley.
Aaron and I showed up with pizza and helping hands to help Madi and Gavin clean out their apartment and get ready for the long move to Dallas. Not sure why I didn't take pictures of all of us.. next time.
Hey-O foot golf! So much fun! I tagged along with Spence and Lexi to Mulligans... which is basically in their backyard.
We got there a little late, but it sure made for a pretty sunset.
Disclaimer: it's a lot harder than it looks. I'm glad I had my Chucks instead of sandals, but next time I'll for sure be wearing my running shoes.
Mulligan's was hopping! The weather was perfect and we ended up in the batting cages!
Fun night that ended with pazookies! Hope to bring Aar next time!

Bryce Canyon

Aaron and I have never been to Bryce Canyon, so I was pumped for our short weekend trip there with Madi, Gavin and Owen.

We made it to the park just in time for the sunset.
We took in Sunset Point, and the took a short one mile loop inside the canyon... man those switchbacks are no joke!
The views were gorgeous and the weather was perfect for a night hike.
We woke up and trekked out to Bryce again in the morning. It looked so different blazing in the sun!
Although it's cool to walk through all the hoodoos in the canyon, my favorite part is definitely the viewpoint. The vast and changing landscape is gorgeous!
We took the Queen's Garden trail that morning in the hot hot sun. The last uphill switchbacks to Sunset Point were roughhhh, not sure how Madi, Gavin and Aaron did it with Owen on their back all weekend, they are pretty tough.

It was such a fun weekend, and we definitely enjoyed Madi and Gavin's company... sad to see them moving to Dallas soon.

Calf Creek

I have fallen in love with all the Utah national parks... and since neither Aaron or I have been to Bryce, we found a weekend to head down south with Madi and Gavin.

I am so happy we had that time with Madi and Gavin, they are some of our favorite friends, but are moving to Dallas next month. Our friends are dwindling each year and they are our constants that we hang out with frequently, so they will definitely be missed. <3

We drove down Friday afternoon and got to our camping spot just after dark because well work. We set up our tents and crashed for the night.
Even though Calf Creek Falls was about a 1.5 hour drive from where we stayed, we took the drive, and I'm so glad we did!
We made a DC stop on the way in and out in Tropic Utah. I loved driving through all the cute but tiny Southern Utah towns.
Calf Creek Falls was about a 5 mile roundtrip hike. The trail wound through a lush green canyon with steep red cliff walls.
The waterfall at the end was gorgeous and so worth the hike!
We spent the afternoon swimming in the freezing water, capturing tons of pictures, snarfing down BBQ chips(mostly me) and swinging in Madi and Gavin's hammock.

It was seriously so much fun and I'm so glad we made it out there!

More Bday Celebrations!

We capped our weekend full of non-stop celebrations!

Thursday was my birthday... the big 2-6!

The whole day I felt soooo loved. Lotsa people texted, Facebook messaged and called.

My boss brought in my favorite... key lime pie from Market Street.
My cute new Relief Society prez brought me Swig cause she saw on insta I've posted about it a lot.

Aaron came home with flowers. Cute boy spent way more than he likes to, but it meant more that way.
We ate dinner at one of my favorites- Blue Lemon at City Creek and did a little shopping.
Spence and Lexi came over after for cake pops and cupcakes and even surprised us with giving us their old gopro.. yay!
Did I mention Aaron's gift to me is Lasik? So excited slash nervous. Waiting until the end of summer to have the procedure.

My parents are on a road trip to Canada/Montana with my grandparents this week. They flew in a day early so we could have a bday celebration for Lexi, Aaron and I.
They treated us all to Melting Pot.

The cheese fondue, broiled meats and chocolate fondue was to die for.

The night capped off with gifts... water guns and Dillard's gift cards.
Saturday we spent playing on the big inflatable slide with Logan and Anna's family and spike ball and BBQing with Preston and Jessa.
Such a perfect summer weekend full of food, friends, family and fun!

My life has been full of such happiness lately. We are so blessed. I have a great job. A cute little house. Thee best family. Fun friends. Summer. Great trips all year long. The gospel.

I have caught myself many times driving down the road with a giant smile on my face. Life is so good right now. I can't stop smiling. 26 is gonna be good.
