Memorial Weekend 2k15

Our Memorial weekend was stacked! Work has been crazy between traveling to Denver and proposals galore, so it was good to take a step back from work.

Friday night we ended up at Red Robin, and ate way too many french fries... the seasoning and fry sauce is just too good there! We also played a few rounds of mini golf at Fat Cats, we love the cheap mini glow golf at Fat Cats. Also I won in a close match!
Saturday morning we ran the 5k Stunt Run with Madi and Gavin and their in-laws. It's basically the Wipeout course stretched over 3 miles. Wished we could have done the race in July when it was nice and warm. I was freezing cold between jumping in and out of the water, but still so glad we did it.
Poor Ashley kneed her eye falling down from the zip line, and they saw me shivering too much so I got a foil blanket. Other than that we were fine......
Promise the punch below didn't hurt, and hey I stayed up! I think Madi and I deserve the MVP awards, since we stayed up on all the hardest obstacles.
We had the Kamas Kabin this weekend, so obvi Aaron had to head up immediately after the race.
Spence quickly caught on to fishing.
 And caught his first fish.
Aaron caught a few as well.

Owen was the happiest little baby, such a trooper.

Besides playing UNO, cards, cooking, roasting smores and drinking Diet Coke, we had to grab some ice cream at the "Medicine Store" with some pizza to go along.
We visited the gigantic Fairy Forest up by Mirror Lake. There were the cutest little rocks painted everywhere.

We finished the weekend watching the Bachelorette and falling asleep on the couch.... solid weekend.

11:01 pm

11:01 pm
Spending the night at the Holiday Inn in Denver, soooooo glamorous.

Quick [or not so quick] work trip, 5:40 am flight out this morning with 11:30 pm landing tomorrow back in good ol' SLC.

Expensive dinners I could never afford if it wasn't involved with work.

Backpack full of media proposals.

Emails piling up.

Sleepiness kicking in.

O N E Y E A R

Aaron and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary this past weekend. It's crazy to think we've only been married a year, and known each other for 2 years, seems like we've known each other forever.
We had planned to switch off Valentine's Day and anniversaries, and since Aaron took care of Valentine's it was my turn to plan the anni. But wait..... he wanted to plan the anni too, fine by me!

He booked the Bumbleberry Inn for us Friday night in beautiful Springdale. I entered us into the lottery for Subway permits in Zion NP and we won! We packed all our shorts, water shoes, sunglasses and were good to go. Until it didn't stop raining. And was 40 degrees.

So between our lack of preparedness and rain- which is a no go since flash floods are very dangerous in the canyons in Zion. Instead we took it easy.
We Slept in.... zzzzzzz

Ate at Wildcat Willies.
Visited the gift shops.

Packed on up.
.....And went for a drive.
 Through the windy roads.

And inside the tunnel.

The rain still hadn't cleared up.
So we took lots of photos.
 And some GoPro footage.
 And headed to St. George.
Where the weather was much better.
 Looked at the view.
And took more pictures. Obviously we aren't that great at kissing pictures. Promise Aaron wasn't in pain.

We went shopping at the outlets and got loads of clothes.

Visited in laws (when you have 20 in-laws on the Pugh side alone, there is ALWAYS someone to visit).

Ate dinner at the Rib and Chop House.

In between all that we made 2 visits to Swiggy Swig Swig in one day. Word of advice- don't have them make you a shake... stick to the basics i.e. drinks and a cookie. I hated the "shake" they made me so Aar was sweet enough to stop by another place to get me some ice cream.

We spent the night at my in-laws so we could celebrate Mother's day with Susanne. Aaron and Lee made us a yummy breakfast in the morning too.

After church we packed our bags up and headed up to Salt Lake.

It's been such a great year, and I think this year can only get better as we are getting settled into our home and getting used to married life.

Here's to year 2!

Forgetful

It's been just one of those weeks.

Yesterday I did all my makeup and forgot mascara.

Today I got fully dressed, but forgot to put a bra on[insert embarrassed face emoji]. Made it all the way til work and went through some meetings before I could head back home.

Don't wanna know what I'll forget about tomorrow........

I am so drained after work that I have no motivation to work on and clean the house.

.... Luckily (or not so luckily) Aaron does, so this week we tore out one of the side garden beds and filled it in with rock. I'm actually glad he made me help. He may not be the best indoor cleaning helper, but he sure is a good yard helper!

I am counting down the days until the weekend. We are celebrating our 1st anniversary in Zion National Park! I have grown to love Zion. We are spending the weekend at a little hotel in Springdale and I can't wait.

In the meantime, I want to start taking pictures of Aar and I on the pedestal in front of the temple to mark each year. It took a little convincing, but we did it!

We both went to our first live session which was great. I love the temple. And May 10th is my favorite day ever.

A boy and his lawn

I knew buying a house would come with a lot of work, but didn't realize there would be this much!

Saturday we took five trips to Home Depot... you heard that right, FIVE

That's not even including Smith's twice, the gas station, the DI... you get it.

Our backyard grass is super patchy[from the previous owners' dog, grrr] so Saturday we patched it up and planted grass in the sparse areas.
Cute Aaron has been watering it nonstop.

I get home from work, watering it.

Going to bed, watering it.

Making dinner, watering it.

Can't wait to see his reaction when the seeds start springing up!

Still lotsa work to do in the backyard flowerbeds but just gotta keep reminding myself it's a
