#Partyallweeklong

This last week of July has quickly become a busy week for us all year. With Pioneer Day, Lexi's birthday, Aaron's birthday aaaand my birthday it's sorta a crazy week.

I just got called to be in the Relief Society presidency in my ward, so my week has been full of meetings too. I raced from our presidency meeting back home in time to have friends over for dinner.
Logan and Anna are in town from medical school and Trevor and Lauren came up from Utah County. We ate plenty of bbq chicken, and Aaron's favorites- starburst, gatorade and doritos. And the night wouldn't be complete without playing a little Uno.

I came home last night to the best sight.... Georgetown cupcakes sitting on our porch! Spencer, Lexi and David had them sent to Aaron and I for our bdays... I love that tradition. They were delicious as always. I laughed when I saw the card that came with them... looks like they got messed up haha :)
After another RS meeting, I came home and we went and celebrated Aaron's bday again at his favorite- Red Robin.
And we're not even through with all the celebrating this week. Tonight it's my birthday dinner, and then tomorrow it's Melting Pot with my fam and Ruth's Diner for breakfast in the morning.

I am so thankful to all our good friends and family, and to those who have reached out to Aaron and I on our birthdays... we sure are blessed!

Oceanside part 2

We stayed right of the Coast Highway in Oceanside. The street was full of fun souvenirs, ice cream, restaurants and palm trees. We took a couple walks up and down during the week, and I wouldn't mind doing that every week!
During the week we hitched a ride with my bro and sis in law down to La Jolla.

We went down to Seal Beach with the kiddos and I can't believe how close we got to the seals!
They were pretty cute, a little smelly and really loud.... but very good at posing for pictures :)
After the seals, we ditched the crew and ate at a cute beachside restaurant for lunch, wandered the streets of La Jolla and went kayaking in the ocean.
We loved kayaking! We started at the beach and had to get through the bumpy waves and into the open ocean. Once out we paddled over to the caves and continued to watch the seals and sea lions. The weather was perfect and we loved just drifting around and soaking up the ocean.
Later we met up with the family and walked around the gorgeous San Diego temple. It's always such a pretty sight.. although I was kinda bummed we didn't go inside... maybe next time we'll come more prepared.
One of my favorites parts of the trip was getting pedicures with my two sister in laws Natalie and Emily. We went to the cutest nail salon and talked about family and life, and then walked around the beach continuing the conversation. It was so fun to hear their perspective and experiences!
Aaron's sister Sarah and husband Mike are pro sand castle builders. All week long we would see them digging and creating different sculptures. We had to steal a pic with one of their last ones.
One of the nights Aaron and I grabbed some ice cream we walked a mile down the road and caught the prettiest sunset.. pictures don't do justice.

We spent most of our days sleeping in and playing at the beach... it's good to have a low key vacation every now and then.

Aaaand Aaron's favorite part of the whole trip was stopping in Mesquite and winning $90 on the way home :)

Grateful for this Pugh family vacation tradition!

Oceanside part 1

Every other year it's tradition the Pugh's head down to SoCal for a little beach vacay in Oceanside. This year 5 of the 10 siblings made it and enjoyed the week full of swimming, laying out, UNO, BBQ and fun.
We stayed right off the Oceanside Harbor with great views of the ocean.
Our nieces and nephews loved the beach. They entertained themselves all day everyday between playing in the sand, boogie boarding and swimming they were non stop, it made me tired!
We heard on full moon a certain species of fish swim up and swarm the shores to lay their eggs. We went out on full moon to catch it, but unfortunately the moon wasn't full enough or the fish really don't do that. We did catch high tide though which totally drenched us a few times though haha.

Our grill at home broke, so Aaron took full advantage of grilling every. single. night. It was delicious though... hot dogs, chicken, peppers and asparagus kept our bellies full.

Poor Aar got sunburned on our very first full day out on the beach. He wore his shirt and a towel on his head, or parked it in the shade for most the week after.

My family has a tradition of getting ice cream basically every day on vacation. Poor Aar had to listen to me asking for ice cream about 5 times a day. He caved about 3 times :)
We had yummy shrimp tacos and burritos at Johnny Manana's in Oside.

Slept in til about noon most days.

Got smashed by waves boogie boarding.

Ate way too many Sour Skittles and Starburst.

And that's just half of it!

We Like July

It feels like all summer we've been going going going..... and we're not even close to being done with all our traveling and events. Yay Summer!

Last Thursday, I was given a paid day off work... I work for great people, and they don't want me to get worn out. So I slept in a bit, worked out, ran errands, did laundry, and had to stop by Swig.
It was good to have a catch up day.

Friday I went to Ruth's Diner for my very first time. I loved it! The food was sooo good, and the atmosphere adorable. Something tells me I'll be back pretty soon.
We had another Kamas Kabin trip over the weekend.

We missed our original crew.

But it was fun to have new people.

Logan and Anna stopped by.

Trevor and his girlfriend Lauren stayed over.

Spence and Lexi dropped by.

Xanni and her boyfriend Spence capped off the weekend with us.

Spence and Lexi brought their brand new adorable dog Daisy over. She is the cutest.
Puppies and ice cream.... nothing better eh?
Aaron caught a giant fish at the usual fishing hole.
Aaand he and Trevy braved the freezing water and swam around #crazies
We ate plenty of treats.

Played lotsa Uno.

Aaaand enjoyed showing new people Aaron's favorite place in the world.

Aaron's parents are staying at our house this week while Lee helps Jake with a basketball camp. They are leaving for their mission to New Zealand in less then 2 months.

Susanne is a master crocheter and since she'll be gone while we maybe have a kiddo, she made this beautiful blessing dress.
She said it took 100+ hours to make. So sweet.
No announcements right now, we still have a bit more traveling to do, lasik for my eyes and Zika to ride out from our Peru trip, but just had to show off this cute dress.

America!

I'm a big 4th of July fan.

Something about Americans banding together.

Patriotic colors everywhere.

Grills grillin'.

Pool chillin'.

Sun Shinin'.

Fireworks poppin'.

It really is the best.

Aaron headed out to go backpacking in the Uintah's for the entire weekend.
So I spent the weekend at the movies, Pizzaria Limone, poolside(forget I have white skin and got FRIED) and at Stadium of Fire!

Glad we went to Stadium of Fire so I don't have FOMO anymore.... but don't think I'll be back. The best part was Tim McGraw... who was great, but other than that I could pass.. especially the 45 minute drive.

So thank you Tim for making it great!

I've been nursing my poor burnt legs with plenty of aloe and peppermint oil all weekend long and feel like the sun burn may never go away.

Aaron came home early Sunday night instead of Monday.. yay! He was getting eaten alive by bugs, tweaked his ankle which made the trip not very enjoyable....

He came back just in time to make smore's outside with Spence and Lexi.

We spent the 4th taking my grandparents to Cubby's, visiting friends in Spanish Fork, eating lots of junk, playing Uno and watching Murray and neighborhood fireworks with more friends.

Happy Birthday America.. we love you!
