Salzburg

Here they come, Europe trip recaps, and things I want to remember from our amazing trip.

We had an early flight in the morning, so Aar and I decided to stay up all night. We watched plenty of Impractical Jokers episodes, packed, did laundry, drank lotsa Diet Coke and were on our way to the airport before we knew it.

A nap, bland airplane food and a few movies later we landed in Munich Germany, only to hop on a bus to Salzburg Austria. I didn't mind so much with the gorgeous Germany/Austria green green hills, farms and cutest houses.

2 hours later, we made it to Salzburg!
I love how most European cities are set up just around rivers, and always have castles nestled on top of the hill.

We stayed at the Hotel Sacher, it was gorgeous and we were definitely spoiled with a 5 star suite.
Trust me, if it were up to us and we planned this trip on our own dime and time, I'm sure we would probably be staying in a hostel or at best an Airbnb.

Jet lag was setting in quickly so luckily we had a Sound of Music bike tour scheduled for that afternoon.
Although we have never (and still haven't) seen the Sound of Music, we loved the bike tour.
We drove down narrow cobblestone streets.

Sped through grassy green fields.

Weaved along the river.

...and saw the Sound of Music sites.... we really need to watch that movie.
It was the perfect introduction to Europe.... also hazelnut chocolate geletto... it's never too cold for ice cream.
We slept for a solid 11 hours that night. Luckily we still caught this view!
And headed to a tour of Salzburg in the morning.

It was super nerdy, but I loved that all throughout our trip, we had tour guides telling us the history and educating us about each of the cities. We followed them around with our little earpieces screaming that we were tourists.

We saw Mozart's house.

Walked down the famous shopping street with iron signs... unfortunately they were closed, good for them, bad timing for us.

Visited the fortress at the top of the hill.
Ate lunch right on the fortress overlooking the Alps.
We took advantage of the love lock bridge and locked one up of our own.
Later that night we ate dinner at an old brewery in town, ate pretzels and drank Diet Coke, sprite and water.

And that's a wrap for Salzburg... we loved it and wish we could have stayed longer!
