August

August is a hard month... it's Sunday of summer. The last month that you really just want to enjoy, but then you get sad that fall is almost here.

But the temps have been warm and the AC has been blasting, so I'll just keep the summer vibes going.

I had a long week last week full of travel. We headed to Kentucky for 2 days, and then spent 2 days in Denver. They were long days full of meeting with clients and media. I'm probably a baby but work trips are so exhausting.
Since I knew we'd be exhausted on the way back, I booked first class tickets... that's the perk of booking the travel :) so we got to breeze through security and be the first off the plane.

I've also become a resident airplane-R. I won't step on a plane without a water bottle, Xanax, neck pillow, ear plugs and eye mask. It's the real deal.

Speaking of summer, I'm savoring the snow cone shack up the road, Aaron is a good sport to go with me.
We've had 2 more Gus events in the past week that have been a success! On the way back to Saratoga to drop Gus off at Spence and Lexi's, we had a scary encounter. I was following the VW per usual when I noticed a truck was following me. So Aar pulled off to see if it would follow and it did.... we kept going prepared to stop at the Walmart parking lot where plenty of people would be. We gunned it and luckily lost the truck so we hurried to Spence and Lexi's and shut the garage door. I was shaking for a couple minutes, but everything turned out alright.
Madi is in town and I love that she's always up for anything. So we hiked Mount Olympus Saturday.
Turns out Mt. O is about 9-10 miles round trip. I'm a little sore, but it was good to get out and spend time together.
Aaron is getting into a fitness mood... I can't complain, but the past couple of days we've been doing two-a-days. We wake up at 5:30 before work and go to the gym for an hour. He's been great and has been making breakfast while I shower so I can't complain. After work we head back to the gym and zonk out at 10 pm since we've been up alllll day long.

As if Aar and I don't travel enough... we booked some cheap flights to China over Thanksgiving! I'm super excited! We booked our hotel and have a short outline of what we want to do and see.. but we need to figure this whole Visa situation out soon.

But before China I have about 12 more trips coming up to worry about.... Kentucky and a Denver event for work, and Chicago with Aaron in September. October we have Kentucky, Denver and a Utah work event and ITALY! Busy or bust!

Birthdays

Finally time to talk about our birthdays!

Aaron's birthday fell on a Wednesday and mine on Friday.

I made pancakes the night before so it'd be easy to reheat and have ready for his breakfast in the morning. Then off to work with a quick break for Rio... of course it was double points day for his birthday.
He had plenty of presents and we relaxed for the rest of the night.
Cheers to his last year of 20s!

My cute parents came to town for our birthdays... since Lexi, Aar and I have birthdays so close, there's no better reason to celebrate!

I started a new tradition at my office this year- everyone gets a paid day off on their birthday! I mean... why isn't this a thing everywhere really?

So I spent my day sleeping in, getting pedicures with my mom, eating at Blue Lemon, grabbing some cookie dough at dough co, Cafe Rio and a Gus event up Millcreek.
I can't believe I'm 27.... getting old!

After the event we headed up to the Kamas Kabin to spend the night there just Aaron, me and my mom. A cute new biscuit company opened up in Woodland, so we had to have breakfast there.
It was a little long of a wait but very yummy.

We had a quick trip to Kamas and headed back... but first medicine!

We rushed home in time to make it for our birthday dinner at the Roof.
I forgot how good the Roof was! We took our time and devoured all the great dishes and took in the pretty summer views from up high.

My mom left a little earlier than my dad, so right before we took her to the airport, we headed up to Albion Basin.
I have no idea why I haven't been up there during wildflowers before. It was AMAZING! I can't believe I've missed out on it all these years. Definitely will be heading up there every year from now on.
We've been busy with plenty of Gus events lately... it's been great. Once everything's booked, the easiest part is going to an event. We just set up and hang out.
We've had a few more birthday celebrations still... a birthday dinner at Cheesecake from Aaron's parents and another dinner coming up! We are so lucky!

We also had a blast hiking up around Mount Olympus last week. Can't get enough of summer... and loving Utah even more each day!

Howdy Texas!

We had a blast in Texas visiting Madi, Gavin and Owen!

We utilize all our holiday days off and add in another day to our vacations.

So we headed out Pioneer weekend to Dallas.
We flew in early Friday morning and our first stop was McDee's. Brekkie and Diet Coke of course!

Then down to Deep Ellum for the wall art. It may have been my favorite part of Dallas!

It was so fun snapping pics and walking around town... except we definitely underestimated the Dallas heat. Holy cow we were sweating in no time!

Owen latched right onto Aaron within minutes of arriving. It was the cutest. At the sun wall he insisted on putting his little arm around Aaron. He has a charm with kids like no one else.

We headed downtown for dinner for some real good BBQ aaaand to take in the awesome skyline view.
Saturday morning we headed to Davis Oklahoma for the falls!

They were just as fun as I was expecting. The weather was warm and sunny and the water nice and refreshing. We started a the top of the falls with plenty of rocky little pools and slowly headed down the river to the main falls, and then the slides at the end.

Worth the 1.5 hour drive! And Madi and Gavin were the best chauffers.

Sunday we went to church and explored downtown Dallas.
Eye see you Dallas.

Thanksgiving Square, Gavin's office lookout and Grassy Knoll were a few of the stops.

Monday before we left we headed to Fort Worth.

Every day at 11 am they heard the big longhorn bulls... and man are they B-I-G! It's pretty cool.

^ And these waterfalls were so cool! Fun to walk around and exploring through the different falls at the Fort Worth water gardens.

We spent many meals eating tacos.

Tried the new pop rocks slush at Sonic... after they got our order wrong 3 times :/.

Played Uno. Every. Night.

And enjoyed spending time with my bestie.

Thanks Texas!
