Werk

Can't believe Christmas is here again! Our weeks have been nonstop busy, and I sure crash each night once my head hits the pillow.

We did a lot of Christmas shopping on Black Friday and early on in December. It feels good to have shopping almost completely done besides baking a few cookies and sending out Christmas cards.

Our Christmas tree is up along with all the decor.

Just waiting for our couches to come from RC Willey... it's been 3 weeks since we ordered. I called the other day to see the status, and they said we'll get it mid January.

I about cried. Our little love seat is so uncomfortable. Plus it would be super nice to have the couches in time for Christmas with family and friends in town :(

We went to a Jazz suite last week. Aaron's absolute favorite thing in the world.
Cute kid was in heaven with nachos, pizza, chicken wings, chips and drinks.
Also, promise I don't have a gap in my teeth^^^

We love the sushi place by our house <3

And visiting Gma and Gpa at least twice a week.
And besides working looooong hours at our regular jobs, we work about 3 hours each night on our VW photo booth project. Fun stuff.

Gus the Photo Bus... coming soon!

Nuts November

Wow, per usual, life has been super busy.

Especially with work for Aaron and I both. Aaron is continuing to grow his business, and is getting referrals/splits from his mentor, which is great news!

At my office, we just hired someone new, which results in the process of slowly training, while I am still working on all accounts full steam. Black Friday and the holidays, plus traveling to Denver add to the business. 10+ hour days are the norm lately.

So Aaron and I's new tradition on Monday nights is to grab some food[or ice cream in my case] and continue our work for the night at his office in Holladay... so it's not all too bad.

Iceburg for the win!
We love Bohemian Brewery literally just down the street from our house. It reminds me of Austria so much, and the food is DEE-licioius!
 BASIC
We randomly sold our living room sectional. It was sliding all over the place, and not very comfortable. Since then we've been couch shopping at RC Willey. We finally found a couch/oversize chair set we could both agree on.
This is the style we are getting, but because we chose different fabric, it's about a 6-8 week wait for them to custom make it.

Please pray for us as we share the tiny loveseat in our front room. We need a new big couch ASAP!

And speaking of new purchases, Aaron though we needed a huge 70 inch TV... (no complaints) so all last weekend we worked on hanging it above the mantle. Not sure what got into that kid, he is usually set on budgets and finding ways to make things work, but we just dropped $2k+... haha again not complaining!

Halloween 2016

We've been celebrating Halloween all week.

I've been sneaking away at our huge Costco sized candy bag all week leading up to Halloween :/

J Dawgs has been on my mind lately, so I had to make a stop on the way down to Strangling Brothers. HEART EYES.
I always get nervous before going into a haunted house.
I've been through Strangling Brothers many many times, but still get nervous. I was brave for a little though and even went first a couple of times.
Cotton Candy skies every morning lately have been a highlight. The only bummer is that the pretty sunrise only lasts about 2 minutes, all when I'm driving into work so I can't enjoy the view as much.
Spencer, Lexi, Aar and I brought my grandpa's favorite McDee's. We had a lot of fun visiting, talking about typewriters and eating ice cream after.
We hosted a huge party for a client down at the Castle in Lindon. It was the perfect event rental place for Halloween, reclaimed wood, iron chandeliers, it was pretty cool... but so stressful for me, setting up the AV, powerpoint, getting all the performers ready, prepped and paid. Didn't sit down for a second and hardly ate... so glad it's over.

We spent Halloween eating candy(we got 5 groups of trick or treaters, so we had tons of leftover candy), planning for our future business events and doing work late into the night. Sad to see the warmer days getting shorter and shorter.

Also we booked our Australia/New Zealand/Fiji trip yahoo!

Fall Catch Up

So much has been going on in the last couple of weeks! Madi came to town... we went to Cornbelly's of course! #lildiny #corncops
Since flights for Thanksgiving are so expensive, we flew out to Atlanta/Athens to go see my parents and brother.

We drank lotsa Coke at Coke World.
Devoured Georgetown Cupcakes.
Watched UGA football.

Aaand ate plenty of good food.

Was a good trip and wish we could visit more.

Two days after we got back from ATL, I hopped back on a plane for Denver for a one day work meeting. Traveling so much for work has made me hate airports. Atleast I get first class every once in a while.

Spence, Lexi, Aaron and I just purchased a VW bus! We are going to get into the events industry and do a photo booth bus!
So far it's already been a lot of work, but I'm excited.

We've been getting together every night for hours on end to create the business plan, financials, bus mechanics, marketing... you get it.

It's exciting to see things come along. Currently we are working on a logo with a designer, the bus is getting fixed up in Riverton and we are starting to order interiors.

Here's to hoping this side hustle works!

Besides the side hustle and our regular jobs... we'll be busy raking leaves all weekend... at least it's pretty?

New Eyes!

My birthday present from Aaron this year was lasik surgery!

3 months later I finally redeemed it! I've wanted to get lasik for a while... and with a steady prescription and no plans for kids in the next few months... I braved it and scheduled a date.

I was soooo nervous... the fact you are AWAKE during the whole surgery was a little eery.

Luckily I know plenty of people who have had the surgery done and have reassured me it was one of the best decisions they made.
^Putting the numbing drops in just seconds before I walked into the operating room!
^Right before the doctor drew on my eyeballs with a sharpie!
Aaron stayed and watched the surgery live in another room! It was cool to see from another perspective what exactly they were doing.

I rested the rest of the day in the dark sleeping and listening to music and podcasts and by night time my vision was clear!

It was pretty neat... and I'm so glad I got it done!

Cornbelly's

Cornbelly's is one of my favorite things about Fall. Each year it just gets bigger and better.

Spencer, Lexi, Aaron and I went early in the season before it's too chilly at night.

We stopped at J-Dawgs on the way day and chomped down the yummy hot dogs and sauce.
From the classic big rocking chair, to the corn maze, to big bouncy.. aka the bouncy pillows we had so much fun!

So glad we got to go... who know we may take another visit this year. Thanks Cornbelly's!

Moab

Life has not be slowing down lately. Aaron and I have both been traveling for work, we are planning more trips in October, lasik eye surgery is tomorrow (yay/eeek) conference came and left aaand much more.

Life has been so incredibly hard lately. I've learned life never happens as you'd expect/want it. I've just had to roll with all the punches coming at me. Through it all though, I feel like I've been able to grow into myself and learn a lot about myself and the importance of staying close to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

I've learned I can't control every outcome and that as long as I'm doing my part to be the best and most Christlike that I can be... things will find a way of working out, no matter how long it takes.

Okay rant over! Part of the current craziness of life was planning, organizing and hosting a conference for a client in Moab.

Man it was exhausting! From sun up to sundown for three days we were making sure everything was taken care of from AV to food to ATV's to hotel rooms to budgets and more.

In between all the meetings, we took the group out on ATV's to Hell's Revenge.

I have never ridden and ATV there... man it was so much fun/thrilling/scary/gorgeous!

I was a wuss and didn't drive.. but can you blame me? Look at these hills!

We stayed at the Red Cliffs Lodge just up the canyon highway from Moab.
If you've never been there, you must go now! It's the coolest resort, right on the Colorado River surrounded by tall red cliffs.
And this was my view waking up earrrrly in the morn!

Snowbird, Fall and Trips

The past couple weeks have been a blur for me.... They've flown by, but I've  been nonstop busy til late in the night.

Susanne and Lee just started their mission and came to stay with us a few days before their flight to New Zealand. The fall weather has been soooo ideal and the mountains are at their peak with all the leaves changing. So we took them up to Snowbird to take the tram up to the top.
It was so funny because it was in the middle of Oktoberfest at Snowbird, so alcohol everywhere, but they still enjoyed it with their missionary tags on and everything.
We headed back down the canyon to Pei Wei and spent the night speculating about New Zealand and their mission.. I can't wait to visit them next year!

Work has been crazy crazy busy. I spent a couple days in Denver for some media meetings. Early 5:40 am flight and meetings back to back 2 days in a row... and then back to work to catch up on emails.... #rough.

We sent them off the airport after we took them to Zupas Monday afternoon. Between their lack of flying and being nervous about leaving we walked them through every check in step and watched them get through security. We haven't heard from them yet... but I guess no news is good news.
One of my clients sponsored a walk for Shriners Hospital. I never knew much about Shriners, but I have learned a lot! They are such a help in the community and it was cool to see all the kids participate in the walk in their wheelchairs and crutches with their families.
The cotton candy wasn't bad either!
This week has been busy prepping for a conference we are holding for a client in Moab.... so I've been working and worrying 12- 15 hours a day about that and catching up on other urgent items... it's exhausting.

The only good thing about that is that Aaron has been at a conference in California all week... so he hasn't been distracting me, and I don't feel bad for working so much.

These last couple and coming weeks we will have hardly seen each other, between my trip to Denver, his to California and then mine to Moab this weekend it's few and far between :(
Today the weather got reallll cold.. the mountain peaks have been dusted with snow and enveloped with clouds all day... so fall decor is out. Trying so hard not to eat all the candy corn... once I start it's hard to stop.
KAA loves fall and football so of course our lobby is decked out!

Here's to surviving the next couple of days!
