Neffs

Last night Aaron and I trekked up to Neffs Canyon. It's a small hiking trail canyon in the Olympus Cove, just south of Millcreek Canyon. Maybe I'm a wuss, but the beginning of the trail is prettttty steep, Aaron was dragging me up, but soon it leveled off.

Just after it leveled off we encountered S-N-O-W! Also encountered a monkey hanging from the tree.
Can't wait to come up in the summer with a fire! And no mud underneath the swing!
The way down the canyon was a little bit harder in the slippery snow. Like I mentioned before I'm a wuss so baby steps it was for me. At our stopping point it was so still, quiet and peaceful with the cool air and sunset behind us. Such a cool moment.

The past weekend we have been house hunting, and hunting and signing contracts and everything. We are under contract with a house in Midvale. The kitchen is gorgeous, white cabinets, granite countertops, wood floors, stainless steel appliance, big backyard and gorgeous. Crossing my fingers everything runs smoothly.

As Aaron said "Faith is believing in something will go correctly when you can't see how it will turn out... But if you have done your part and had 'good works' we are promised things will be fine..."

Viva Las Vegas

Well I did it. Went to my very first... NASCAR race and it is definitely an experience. First off, the stadium holds 105,000 people say what? The stadium was packed!
I went to the race for a Summit we put on for a client, and we were lucky enough to get Neon Garage passes so we got to go inside the track closer to the action, which was pretty neat! I couldn't believe how loud the cars were, but then again they are going 200+ miles an hour. You had to yell to talk to the person next to you. Next time I'm bringing ear plugs.
Vegas always has the coolest architecture and interior design. Lots of great ideas. A view from our restaurant one night.
 Hello Eiffel tower. Lookin great.
Saw the Bellagio Fountains 3 times, but always the best at night.
This shoe is just a tad too big. But look at the glass behind. It's actually a gigantic chandelier. Coolest thing ever, it's about 3 stories high, with a bar inside of it!
But really the weekend was busy full of meetings, preparation, AV difficulties, late night, early early mornings, the Beatles LOVE Cirque du Soleil{awesome}, beautiful sunny days, and me wishing I wasn't working so I could enjoy it more! Hopefully I can come back soon and really enjoy the time!

90

My Grandpa is 90 years old! All the family was in town for the occasion. By far my favorite memory with him was my wedding day. We were so lucky to have him perform our marriage ceremony. It was very memorable in both sweet and funny ways. Thank you Grandpa!
We had so much fun with the family all together... and slowly learning to hold babies.
Some people aren't as good...
And some just like gatorade better then babies.
Of course my Dad had to go to Cafe Rio, both days he was here :) It's a family staple.
And ended the weekend queen of the scum world!

This week

So far I have eaten a donut, valentine candy and heart sugar cookies... and oh yeah a diet Dr. Pep. Good thing Valentine's Day only comes once a year!

This week has been full of lunches, working, running outside for the first time this year, warm temperatures and late night meetings.

I met Spence at Blue Lemon, poor kid still can't eat solid foods yet since he hurt his jaw. We talked about how I would be the worst boss ever since I would just fire people I didn't like regardless of their skills, and I drank and drank from the coke machine there.

Charlotte and I scheduled lunch at Chipotle and she brought along little Eden.
She was pretty good for most of the time, but started crying at the end. I tried to maneuver her to different positions, give her a pacifier, you know the usual, but no luck. Between all our friends babies, and my inexperience in them, Aar and I think we'll just enjoy other people's children for now. Charlotte and I could have talked until midnight, but dang it I had to get back to work. I'm bummed they will be moving far far away for medical school really really soon.

Aar was a sweetheart and took me to the temple last night, he said he was giving me "spiritual flowers" for Valentine's day. We finished the night off with Hot N' Spicy's and McFlurry's cause we're classy like that.
Oh and Aar sent me this picture of him in high school from his football playing dayzz. All the time I wish so bad we knew each other in high school!

Future plans

We have had such a crazy week. Aaron's darling niece got major brain surgery this week, so his parents came up to visit and stayed at our place. We hung out with them over the weekend, went to see Big Hero 6, ate lotsa popcorn, went to dinner and played Farkle.

We also had a small Super Bowl get together at our house, with a bunch of our good friends and ate wayyy way wayyy too much food.

About a year ago we signed our lease for our apartment, which we assumed was a one year lease. So we have been frantically looking for a new apartment, as well as looking at buying a home. For the past 3 days we have been spending our nights driving back and forth to look at showings, and browsing Utah real estate. After all that our current landlords wanted to talk to us to go over everything, since they are moving soon. Well turns out our lease isn't up until June 1! Hallelujah!

It so good to hear, no moving for a few more months, and now we can save up more money and really find a house we want! Here's to finding and buying a house, and hoping Aaron and I don't get into too many fights agreeing on a house! Haha exciting stuff happening around here!
